Vagaro wanted to attract a younger audience to the platform, but its existing calendar experience didn’t reflect modern creative trends or stand out in the market. With a new calendar design in place, the team needed my help to reintroduce the calendar to its users and generate excitement around the change. I created a launch animation that introduced the design, showcased key features, and built excitement for what's to come for new and existing users in the new year.

Calendar Rig

Knowing that the calendar would be used in many other video assets, I created a rig that allowed it to be customizable for any vertical (salon, spa, etc.). Everything from the calendar and event colors to the number of employees visible on the calendar was customizable, giving my team complete control over every aspect. It also helped to streamline my workflow when creating various instances of the calendar within the animation.

Calendar Events — 00:19
Sidebar Controller — 01:52
03:10 — Customizable number of visible employees
03:49 — Adjustable gradient background
04:59 — “Read Me” Document highlighting other calendar customizations

Screen Replacement

We wanted to get the new UI into the users’ hands as quickly as possible. In order to achieve this, I did a couple of edits where I replaced the phone and tablet screen with the new calendar UI. This helped users envision what this new calendar could look like for them, giving them a sense of ownership of the new calendar design.
